Warzone's Haunted Hollow and Giant Infected: everything in Season 06's The Haunting

The Haunting comes back on Thursday 17 September, and for once the Warzone half of a seasonal drop isn’t an afterthought. Haven’s Hollow gets torn apart into Haunted Hollow, a 64-player Giant Infected mode lands on top of it, and DOOM Guy walks in through an Event Pass.
Here’s every detail Activision has actually confirmed — and nothing it hasn’t.
Season 06 launch date
Season 06 drops on Thursday 17 September 2026 across Black Ops 7 and Warzone (Activision announcement). Activision hasn’t published a go-live time in the announcement blog, so treat the usual seasonal rollout window as an expectation rather than a confirmed fact.
Haunted Hollow: Haven’s Hollow, corrupted
Haunted Hollow is a dark transformation of the Resurgence map Haven’s Hollow, not a new map. Cosmic horrors and a Ghost Train infiltrate the small town, and the overhaul adds twisted discoveries, hidden routes and eerie encounters on a layout you already know.
Two things worth hunting for on day one:
- The Ghost Train travels through the map, and there’s a way to phase it back into reality to get at the loot on board.
- Trick or Treat Pumpkins are scattered around the shops, handing out treats — and tricks — to anyone curious enough to open them.
The practical read: Resurgence rotations you’ve drilled for months still work, but the sightlines and interiors have been meddled with. Expect the first week to be messy.
Giant Infected: 64 players, one DNA Bomb
Giant Infected is a 64-player limited-time mode, exclusive to Haunted Hollow.

So it’s Infected with a win condition attached. The eight-player seed is the number to watch: on a Resurgence-sized footprint that’s a fast early snowball, and the Survivor side lives or dies on whether a squad can hold the DNA Bomb site long enough to arm it.
The DOOM crossover
The Haunting’s headline collaboration is DOOM, delivered through a dedicated DOOM Event Pass. Confirmed unlocks on that track include the Arcblade melee weapon and the Roc 20mm Special weapon, with a Tracer Pack: Doom Demonic Essence bundle also listed for the store.
We’re deliberately not listing the wider DOOM cosmetic line item-by-item — several names doing the rounds aren’t in Activision’s own announcement, and we don’t print things we can’t anchor.

The VMP is the nostalgia pick — it’s the BO3/BO4 SMG — and it’s the one most likely to matter to Resurgence players if its Season 06 tuning lands anywhere near its old form. Full detail on all four is in our Season 06 weapons guide.
Activision has also flagged over 45 weapon camos available across the season.
Last call for Black Ops Royale
One piece of bad news buried in the same blog: Season 06 is your last chance to play Black Ops Royale. Raven has confirmed the mode won’t survive Warzone’s integration with Modern Warfare 4 (Dexerto). If you want its camos, this is the season to grind them — full details here.
What we’d do first
- Play Giant Infected early. LTMs on a themed map get their best lobbies in week one, and it’s the only place Haunted Hollow’s layout is worth learning under low pressure.
- Grind Black Ops Royale camos now. They go away with the mode.
- Sit on Battle Pass tokens until the TR51 Para and VMP are unlocked — both are Battle Pass gates, not shop items.
