Warzone's TR51 Para fire rate is nearly halved, and helicopters are now grounded in the final circle
By TourneyTime ·
The short version
Raven Software has added two more entries to the Warzone Season 06 patch notes, dated 30 September and 7 October. The big changes:
- The TR51 Para’s rate of fire drops from 625 rpm to 333 rpm. It was the only weapon change in either update.
- Gas damage now ramps up the longer you stay in it, reaching 10x after 80 seconds.
- Helicopters are EMP’d and disabled once the final circle begins.
- Self-Revives, Stims and Decontamination Stations deep in the gas are now cleaned up at every circle collapse.
- C4 takes longer to go off. The detonation delay goes from 0.05 to 0.2 seconds.
- There are fewer Supply Drones in the sky: a maximum of 11 in Battle Royale (down from 13) and 7 in Resurgence (down from 8).
All of these changes come from the official Season 06 patch notes.
TR51 Para: 625 rpm to 333 rpm
| Weapon | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| TR51 Para rate of fire | 625 rpm | 333 rpm |
That’s a cut of almost half, and Raven gives no developer note to explain it. The official line doesn’t say which fire mode it applies to. The TR51 Para is semi-auto by default and converts to full auto with its Prestige barrel.
The trackers say it hit hard. Codmunity lists it as the only weapon change on 30 September. It reports the gun’s pick rate falling from 8.9% to 2.9% in the week after the patch. On X, codmunity said the semi-auto build took the hit, that it saw no change in multiplayer, and that it was still checking the full-auto barrel. wzstats calls it a severe fire rate nerf. We haven’t seen a confirmed figure for the full-auto conversion yet, so treat any full-auto numbers you see with caution.
Our TR51 Para loadout guide was written before this nerf, so its semi-auto recommendation is out of date.
Gas and the final circle (30 September)
Gas damage now scales
| Time in the gas | Damage multiplier |
|---|---|
| 35 seconds | 2.0x |
| 50 seconds | 4.0x |
| 65 seconds | 6.0x |
| 80 seconds | 10.0x |
Raven doesn’t list the old values, only the new curve.
Loot cleanup deep in the gas
These items are now removed at every circle collapse if they’re deep inside the gas. Previously this only happened in the final circle:
- Self-Revive
- Advanced Self-Revive
- Stims
- Decontamination Stations
Raven says this targets items that enable extended gas play strategies. If you want to keep them, stay inside the playable area or near the edge of the gas. Champion’s Quest items and Specialist are no longer removed by the cleanup system.
Helicopters disabled in the final circle
Helicopters are now EMP’d and disabled when the final circle begins, and the final circle splash says so. Raven’s reason is to keep final circles focused on ground-based engagements.
Other gameplay changes
- Enemy Decontamination Stations now show a red circle on the map while they’re active.
- Counter UAV now shows a message when it disrupts enemy players on activation.
- Ascenders: detaching close to the ground no longer causes fall damage.
- AFK kicks: players removed by the AFK system can no longer rejoin.
Bug fixes
- Decontamination Stations could activate automatically after landing in water. Fixed.
- Placing a Munitions, Armor or Utility Box on a box that was already deployed could destroy both boxes. Fixed.
- Nameplates and icons could overlap teammate HUD elements while Mutant Injection was active. Fixed.
- Reload animations could stop when using both the Sprinter Perk and Zarkour. Fixed.
- Ghost Train power-ups could be picked up at the end of the pre-match and carried into the match. Fixed.
- Players eliminated in the gas could be eliminated again immediately after respawning. Fixed.
C4 and Supply Drones (7 October)
| Change | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| C4 detonation delay | 0.05 seconds | 0.2 seconds |
| Max active Supply Drones (Battle Royale) | 13 | 11 |
| Max active Supply Drones (Resurgence) | 8 | 7 |
Supply Drones now carry slightly more reusable crates and slightly fewer legendary crates. Raven also adjusted the timing of the Affected by notifications on the Death Recap.
The update includes two bug fixes:
- Helicopters could avoid impact damage if the player switched seats before a crash. Fixed.
- Some active players were wrongly removed for inactivity. Fixed.
Where this fits in Season 06
The season’s main weapon balance pass and the Ranked SR changes came with the 16 September launch notes. Our Season 06 patch notes breakdown covers those. The 24 September update stopped C4 detonation from Last Stand.
Sources we check
Every change listed here comes from Raven Software’s official Warzone Season 06 patch notes, entries for 30 September and 7 October. We checked the TR51 Para figure against two independent trackers, codmunity and wzstats. Both report the drop to 333 rpm. The pick-rate figures are codmunity’s own data, not Raven’s.
