Warzone's October 7 update: C4 now takes four times longer to detonate, and fewer Supply Drones fill the sky

The short version

Raven Software added a 7 October entry to the official Warzone Season 06 patch notes. It’s a small update, but two changes will matter mid-fight: C4 now takes four times longer to go off, and fewer Supply Drones can be in the sky at once.

ChangeBeforeAfter
C4 detonation delay0.05s0.2s
Max active Supply Drones (Battle Royale)1311
Max active Supply Drones (Resurgence)87

C4: a longer fuse

The notes say Raven increased the C4 detonation delay from .05 seconds to .2 seconds. That’s still under a quarter of a second, but against a vehicle or a squad pushing through a doorway, a few extra frames can be enough for the target to get out.

This is the second C4 change this season. The 24 September update stopped players detonating C4 from Last Stand. The same patch also logged a fix for an unintended C4 detonation delay, and Raven said that fix had already shipped in an earlier update. The 7 October change is the deliberate version: a fixed, longer delay. Raven didn’t add a design note explaining it, so we don’t know whether more C4 tuning is coming.

Supply Drones: fewer in the sky, a different loot mix

The official notes set a new cap on how many drones can be active at once:

  • Battle Royale: reduced from 13 to 11
  • Resurgence: reduced from 8 to 7

Raven also says it slightly increased the percentage of reusable crates and slightly reduced the percentage of legendary crates the drones drop. For context, the Season 06 launch rework on 16 September went the other way: drones started carrying more Legendary Crates, staying near High Value Loot Zones and respawning (up to a per-circle limit) when shot down. This update pulls some of that back. Expect slightly fewer drones overhead and slightly fewer legendary crates from each one.

The rest of the update

  • Death Recap: the timing of the ‘Affected by’ notifications was slightly adjusted.
  • Bug fix: helicopters could avoid impact damage if the player switched seats before a crash. That’s fixed.
  • Bug fix: some active players were being wrongly removed for inactivity. That’s fixed too. It matters more since the 30 September update stopped players kicked by the AFK system from rejoining.

There are no weapon balance changes in this update. The TR51 Para fire-rate nerf (625rpm to 333rpm) arrived on 30 September, not here.

Sources we check

Every number above comes from Raven Software’s official Season 06 patch notes (7 October entry). Spiritgamer’s write-up, published the same day, lists the same figures. We haven’t yet found English-language desk coverage of this specific update, so treat any reading of why these changes were made as our interpretation, not Raven’s.
