The VX Compact is the AR that thinks it’s an SMG — and in Warzone Season 4 that’s exactly why it’s meta. Stupidly fast fire rate, snappy handling, melts anyone who pushes you in close. It’s the best sniper-support gun in the game right now, full stop.

Best VX Compact loadout

This is the meta sniper-support setup — the one the stats back and the one the pros are running.

Quick answer: suppress it, extend the range and the mag, keep the handling fast. That’s the whole job.

Why this build

The VX Compact’s base stats are brutal — around 1,034 RPM and a ~210ms ADS — but it ships with a small 30-round mag and short legs. This loadout fixes the weaknesses without killing what makes it special:

Redwell Shade-X Suppressor — keeps you off the minimap when you open fire. Non-negotiable in Warzone. It also helps tame the muzzle.
14.3” Redwell Ascent barrel — buys you bullet velocity and effective range so the gun still bites past 20m instead of falling off a cliff.
Inclination Extended Mag — pushes the mag to ~45 rounds (+50%). With this fire rate you empty a small mag in a heartbeat, so this slot is essential — running dry mid-fight gets you killed.
Lactic Light Stock — protects your movement and ADS speed so the gun keeps feeling like the lightning-fast close-range weapon it is.
FANG HoverPoint ELO — a clean, low-clutter optic for fast target acquisition. Swap to your preferred close-range sight if you like, but keep it light.

With this setup the VX Compact posts a weighted TTK around 580ms inside 10m — fast enough to win almost every close-quarters duel you’ll take.

You trade a bit of range for tighter recoil and even snappier movement. On small, fast maps that’s the better deal — you’re never fighting far enough out to miss the barrel.

Perks & equipment

Build the class around staying alive in close fights and knowing who’s near you:

Paranoia — feel it when an enemy is aiming at you. Huge for a close-range gun.
Awareness — louder enemy footsteps and footprint tracking, so nobody third-parties you quietly.
Skulker — faster movement, crouch and swim speed to reposition and close gaps.

Lethal: Frag Grenade — cookable, clears rooms and finishes downed players. Tactical / field: Grappling Hook — get on top of pushes and reposition instantly. It pairs perfectly with a mobility-first AR.

How to play it

Treat it as your close-range half. This is a two-gun loadout: VX Compact for everything inside ~30m, a sniper or long AR for the rest. Don’t try to win a long-range fight with it — you’ll lose.
Push, don’t peek. Its handling and fire rate reward aggression. Take fights inside buildings, around cover, off the grapple.
Manage the mag. Even at 45 rounds you’ll chew through it fast. Reload after every kill when you’re safe — never start a fight half-empty.
Stay suppressed and mobile. The suppressor plus your movement perks let you reposition unseen after each engagement. Hit, move, reset.
