CR-56 AMAX Loadout: Best Warzone Build (Season 4)
By TourneyTime ·
The CR-56 AMAX is back, and it’s back where it belongs: melting people at range. If you’ve been waiting for an AR that out-trades the meta past 40 metres, this is the one. The AMAX is a Black Ops 6 weapon that carries into the current Warzone, so it’s fully available in Season 4 even though it isn’t part of the Black Ops 7 multiplayer arsenal. Below is the current Season 4 build — slot by slot, no filler, plus how to actually play it.
Best CR-56 AMAX loadout (quick build)
This is the long-range setup the whole community has converged on. Copy it straight across.
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | Willis 3x |
| Muzzle | Compensator |
| Barrel | Gain-Twist Barrel |
| Underbarrel | Vertical Foregrip |
| Magazine | Extended Mag II |
Five slots, one job: turn the AMAX into a long-range laser with 60 rounds in the mag. That’s the build — now here’s why each piece earns its place.
Why this build works
The AMAX’s whole identity is range. Every attachment here leans into that:
- Compensator — cuts the vertical kick so you can actually hold a head-level beam at distance. The AMAX has real recoil; this is the slot that tames it.
- Gain-Twist Barrel — the big one. More bullet velocity and extended damage range, so your shots land where you aim at 60–80m and your damage doesn’t fall off a cliff.
- Vertical Foregrip — offsets the handling cost of the barrel and keeps your recoil pattern vertical and predictable rather than wandering sideways.
- Extended Mag II — bumps you to 60 rounds. Down-a-squad ammo. Non-negotiable on a Warzone AR.
- Willis 3x — the magnification you need to abuse the AMAX’s range advantage. Clean glass, no zoom-in delay that gets you killed.
The pay-off: best-in-class long-range TTK that out-damages rival ARs once fights stretch past 40m. The honest trade-off is a slightly slower first-shot-to-kill up close, which is exactly why you carry an SMG (more on that below).
Perks & equipment
For the standard quiet, long-range setup:
- Perk 1: Ninja — silent footsteps, stay off radar
- Perk 2: Forward Intel — wider mini-map awareness for repositioning
- Perk 3: Slipstream — extra sprint to rotate between angles
- Perk 4 / Bonus: Ghost — invisible to UAVs while moving, essential for holding a long lane
Running an aggressive playstyle instead? Swap to Double Time, Overkill and Amped to claw back the mobility this range build costs you and to swap to your SMG faster.
Tacticals/lethals: a Stun or Snapshot to peek angles, a Semtex or Frag to break a holding squad. Nothing exotic — the gun does the work.
Aggressive / sniper-support variant
If you’d rather use the AMAX as a follow-up to sniper shots — or you just play closer and faster — flip the build toward handling and a snappier sight:
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | Volzhskiy Reflex |
| Muzzle | Compensator |
| Barrel | Ranger Foregrip |
| Underbarrel | Vertical Foregrip |
| Magazine | Extended Mag II |
The Volzhskiy Reflex gives a faster, cleaner mid-range picture than the 3x, and the Ranger Foregrip trades a little range for quicker ADS and movement. Run this when the AMAX is your “confirm the knock after the sniper body-shot” gun rather than your primary lane-holder.
How to play the CR-56 AMAX
- Pick your range. This gun wins from 40m out. Don’t get baited into close, frantic fights — that’s what your secondary is for.
- Pair an SMG for close quarters. The Saug, PP-919, KSV and PPSh-41 are all strong picks. With Overkill you carry both; otherwise the AMAX is your every-range gun and a sniper covers the very long stuff.
- Pre-aim and burst at distance. The recoil is controllable but real — short controlled bursts past 60m land far more damage than holding the trigger.
- Use cover and rotate. Hold a power position, beam a squad, then move before they wallbang you. Ghost + Ninja let you reposition unseen.
- Save the mag dump for finishes. 60 rounds is enough to drop a full squad if you don’t panic-spray. Track, burst, reload behind cover.
Current for Warzone Season 4 (June 2026)
This build is checked and current as of 22 June 2026 for Warzone Season 4. The CR-56 AMAX is a Black Ops 6 weapon that carries into the live Warzone — it isn’t in the Black Ops 7 multiplayer arsenal, but it’s fully playable in Warzone and sits comfortably in the strong-AR tier for long range right now, verified against the live meta trackers below. We refresh our loadouts each season and after balance patches, so if a mid-season update shifts the numbers we’ll update this page.
